C'mon NCAA

College basketball is kicking into high gear and yet we still don't know the fate of Enes Kanter. With the recent decisions on Cam Newton and the Ohio State players, it is hard to imagine how the NCAA can justify not letting Kanter play. There are many reasons to believe that Kanter should be considered an amateur:
-Kanter passed up an opportunity to play for his home Turkish national team which would have netted millions of dollars in hopes of playing college in America
-While Kanter did get paid 30,000 dollars in excess for his time with Turkish club team Fernbach, two-thirds of that went to educational expenses and the remaining has sat untouched in a bank account.
-Kanters father says Enes had no knowledge of his salary and apparantly did not have access to the money
-The Kanters have agreed to pay back any excess money recieved in full
-Kanters father says Enes would return for his Sophomore season if the NCAA would allow him to play, despite the fact that Kanter is projected as a lottery pick in the upcoming draft.
It is clear that Kanter is a kid who wants to attend college, does not consider himself a professional and further has gone to great lengths to try to protect his amateur status. It is time for the NCAA to do the right thing and clear Enes to play immediately.
Free Enes!
