Hurray Liggins

One of the major reasons UK was able to dominate Louisville was the tremendous defensive play of Deandre Liggins. For the majority of the game Liggins was charged with guarding Peton Siva and he was effective at disrupting the play of UL's point guard. Then late in the second half when Preston Knowles started heating up Liggins switched to guard him and he didn't score another point the entire game. In my opinion Liggins is UK's best perimeter defender of the last decade. Aside from that, Liggins has shown giant leaps in maturity and poise since his freshman season when he often appeared out of control and made questionable decisons. Now Liggins seems to always do the right thing on both ends of the floor, and he does it without talking smack to the refs or the oposing team, even when someone takes a cheap shot at him. Liggins is slowly becoming my favorite player on this version of Cal's Cats.
