Poll Patrol

Well that was a disappointing weekend.  Starting with Enes Kanter, going through the football game, and ending with the uninspired play of the basketball team we here at Kentucky Sports Online thought it would be best if we just took the rest of the weekend off and get plastered.  Get drunk...check.  Get hangover...check.  Drink water...repeat.  So we hit the ground running today with our weekly look at Poll Patrol.  This week Kentucky is 13th in the AP and 15th in the Coaches Poll.  Last weeks numbers are in parentheses.

Team                 RPI               Pomeroy        Pomeroy Projected
                                                                         (Total and SEC)
Kentucky              8 (5)                 7 (5)                   24-6         12-4
Vanderbilt             18 (15)             20 (11)               23-7         11-5
Florida                  14 (17)              30 (35)               22-8         11-5
Tennessee           25 (39)             53 (52)               18-13         8-8
Georgia                 48 (60)             70 (77)              20-10         8-8
South Carolina      120 (135)          83 (103)             16-13        7-9

Alabama                190 (215)          48 (71)               19-11       11-5
Mississippi             64 (61)             65 (70)               21-10         9-7
Arkansas               115 (148)          88 (78)               19-11        8-8
LSU                       211 (229)          129 (130)            14-17       6-10
Miss St                  233 (241)          162 (155)            12-18        4-12
Auburn                   324 (335)          224 (228)             9-21        2-14

The tournament picture takes a bit of a turn this week.  Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Florida are locks.  Tennessee's RPI helps them immensely but their projected SEC record can not get any worse as I believe 8-8 you're safe, 7-9 you might be saved by how tough the East is this year.  On the bubble moves Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.  8-8 in the East with an RPI in the lower 40s will get Georgia in, Alabama will need to get their RPI number WAY down(although Pomeroy loves them) as 11-5 looks good but not when you're in the West.  Mississippi already has an okay RPI that could improve in SEC play but will need at least 11 wins in conference.
