Poll Patrol
Kentucky had an excellent rebound week en route to crushing both Auburn and LSU at home. While these were both games that should have been and were no brainers, it allowed the Cats to try a few tweeks to the lineup...namely Terrence Jones coming off the bench and setting the freshman scoring record and Jon Hood logging 20 minutes against LSU. It becomes a little more interesting this week with 2 road games against Alabama and South Carolina. This week Kentucky is 12th in the AP and 12th in the Coaches Poll. Last weeks numbers are in parentheses.
Team RPI Pomeroy Pomeroy Projected
(Total and SEC)
Kentucky 10 (8) 4 (7) 25-5 13-3
Vanderbilt 24 (18) 21 (20) 22-8 11-5
Florida 16 (14) 37 (30) 21-9 10-6
Georgia 41 (48) 59 (70) 21-9 9-7
Tennessee 25 (25) 51 (53) 18-13 8-8
South Carolina 94 (120) 80 (83) 17-12 8-8
Alabama 173 (190) 58 (48) 18-12 10-6
Arkansas 106 (115) 83 (88) 19-11 8-8
Mississippi 88 (64) 81 (65) 19-12 7-9
LSU 175 (211) 151 (129) 14-17 6-10
Miss St 195 (233) 147 (162) 14-16 6-10
Auburn 315 (324) 248 (224) 8-22 1-15
The big movers this week are Georgia and South Carolina. Georgia moves from an RPI of 48 to 41 getting them where they need to be to be a lock if the selections were handed out today. South Carolina's RPI goes from 120 to 94 which still does not look great, but their projected record improves to 8-8 which moves them to the cusp of the bubble. The big loser? The West...plain and simple.
Locks: Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia
Bubble: South Carolina
