Poll Patrol
Kentucky once again was Jekyll and Hyde this week as they lost on the road to Arkansas but rebounded nicely at home to beat Florida. I really thought Arkansas was going to be the game where they figured out how to win on the road...I now have to hope it's against Tennessee. This week Kentucky is 20th in the AP and 23rd in the Coaches Poll. Florida is 14th in both while Vandy is 21st and 20th, respectively. Last weeks numbers are in parentheses.
Team RPI Pomeroy Projected Record
(Total and SEC)
Florida 12 (12) 33 (31) 23-7 12-4
Vanderbilt 23 (17) 29 (25) 22-8 10-6
Kentucky 15 (16) 9 (9) 21-9 9-7
Georgia 36 (37) 56 (58) 20-10 9-7
Tennessee 34 (33) 54 (52) 18-13 8-8
South Carolina 116 (119) 128 (126) 15-14 6-10
Alabama 89 (77) 39 (33) 20-10 12-4
Mississippi 73 (70) 70 (73) 20-11 8-8
Miss St 130 (132) 132 (133) 16-14 8-8
Arkansas 103 (115) 91 (98) 19-11 8-8
LSU 207 (222) 215 (219) 12-19 4-12
Auburn 272 (270) 235 (245) 10-20 3-13
The big mover this week is Alabama who slid 12 spots to 89th in the RPI. The loss the Mississippi hurt and it leaves them in a position that they must win at least 1 of their next 2 games against Georgia and Florida to get to 12 wins. The game against Florida could be the biggest as it might decide the SEC regular season champion and tip the scales in Alabama's favor if they are able to win.
Locks: Florida, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia

Alabama is going to need to beat Florida
ReplyDeleteIf we win out do we get the tiebreaker?
ReplyDeleteif we win out we'd win the tiebreaker against Vandy or Georgia in a 2 way tie. If it's a 3 way tie vandy would get the 2 and we'd get the 3.
