Jorts Day, Every Day!

After almost losing my mind from the finish of tonight's game UK finally wins a close game! Tonight UK beat Vandy 68-66. Tonight's game was a definite barn-burner and after being 0-6 in games decided by 5 points are less UK was finally able to win one. This win also makes two seasons in a row that UK finished the season undefeated at Rupp and extends the home win streak to 34. Tonight's game was up and down throughout with UK leading in the double-digits at various times and Vandy making a late run to take a lead late. UK was able to regain the lead with 52 seconds left after Terrence Jones made a free-throw and were able to close out the game for a win. UK definitely had plenty of chances to put Vandy away but due to numerous turnovers in the 2nd half let Vandy stay in it and almost blew another one. UK really made the tough hustle plays needed in order to win however. In what was deamed "Jort's Day", Josh Harrelson really played great. He finished with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. It's been really great to see the player Harrelson has become this season and best of luck to him in his future endeavors. Knight led all of UK scorers with 17 points. Festus Ezeli led all of Vandy players with 22 points. Overall it was a great win for UK. Hopefully they learned that they have the ability to win a close game and this will be a huge boost for the teams confidence. UK heads to Knoxville on Saturday to take on the Volunteers in what is a must win road game. In order for UK to gain a bye in the SEC tournament, Georgia needs to lose and UK needs to win. So let's hope for the best. Until next time, Go Cats!
