Kentucky and Princeton Predictions
Bleacher Report has a breakdown of the game that pretty much sums up how I feel about our chances today. Princeton can play a slow down offense that can be down right frustrating. It will be interesting to see if the freshman get tried of waiting around on defense and consequently force stuff at the other end. Princeton also has the shooters to pull a stunner, but will need to make at a high rate to stay in the game.
The Tigers have the shooters to pull the stunner, led by guards Douglas Davis and Dave Mavraides, and have the post presence in forwards Ian Hummer and Kareem Maddox to keep the Wildcats honest. The offense is efficient, and the defense is sturdy and stingy.
Look for the Tigers to hang with Kentucky throughout, giving the Wildcats everything they can handle with their hybrid Princeton offense. In the end, though, they just don't have quite enough to pull the upset.
Final Score: Kentucky 67, Princeton 63.
Bleacher Report sees a much closer score than I do. I think it will be close for a while, but Kentucky will eventually go on a stretch to put it out of reach. My prediction:
Kentucky 75, Princeton 60
