In what has to have been one of the most incredible games I've watched in a long time UK was able to knock off the overall no.1 seed, Ohio Buckeyes tonight. UK defeated the Buckeyes 62-60 in a hard fought grinder. UK played an absolutely exceptional game against the buckeyes tonight and the bluegrass state couldn't be happier. The key to the win was no doubt Josh "Jorts" Harrellson. Harrellson came up huge again for the Cats scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Harrellson guarded the POY finalist and freshmen sensation Jared Sullinger and really held his own. Liggins was also huge in this game shutting down Aaron Craft who only had 2 points. Liggins was a huge spark emotionally as well and made some key plays down the stretch to help UK seal the deal. The other key was that despite struggling throughout the game Brandon Knight was again able to rise up at the end and make a clutch basket. After Ohio St. was able to tie the game at 60 with 20 seconds left on a John Diebler 3 Knight came down and hit a last second shot to win the game for UK. This marks the 2nd game winner for knight in the 3 tournament games and shows his ability to erase whatever has happened prior to that last moment and make a play to win it for his team. I couldn't be happier with this UK team with all they have overcome this season. Harrellson has molded into one of the best center's in the country and UK has been able to grind out these close games at the end as opposed to previous games this season. All is well for the Big Blue Nation! Until next time, Go Cats!
