Kyrie Irving will play in NCAA tournament
Coach K has confirmed that Kyrie Irving will be playing in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. Irving's protective boot recently came off and he had been seen lightly practicing with the team. It will be interesting to see how effective he is and if he disrupts the Duke chemistry they have been building the past 3 months without him.
The situation reminds of Derek Anderson in 1997 where Pitino decided not to play him to protect him from further injury. Anderson of course made a triumphant return on a technical foul to shoot a pair of free throws. To this day I still believe that we beat Arizona with Anderson, but I understand looking out for the best interests of the player...still one of Pitino's finest moments as a coach.
