Yesterday news broke out about the NBA fining rap star, and part owner of the New Jersey Nets, Jay-Z $50,000 for visiting the Kentucky locker room after the win against rival UNC to clinch the east region crown. It seems a little over dramatic when you think about it. Yes, he is a famous rapper and billionaire, but what could Jay-Z do to possibly influence college players to go to the Nets? He has no control over who gets picked or when they do, and I am sure this will just stir up more controversy over our University.
Colin Cowherd, from ESPN's "The Herd" radio show took a jab at Kentucky yesterday on his "two for the road" segment. He started by saying,
"famous rap mogul Jay-Z was fined $50,000 for visiting a college locker room during the NCAA tournament, and to no surprise guess who that college was? That's right....Kentucky, who would have guessed anyone else."
He then went on to talk about how other famous people (LeBron James, Ashley Judd, Drake, etc) have visited Rupp and other Kentucky events. He was insinuating how scandalous our program is, and for what?? Because we have cool people come to our games and support us?
Sorry for being awesome Cowherd, don't get mad just because famous people don't come to your lousy radio studio and watch your show...
