I know I know, Kentucky football is a joke right now, the laughing stock of the SEC, even worse than Vanderbilt at this point. However, are there still a few games that could potentially turn this season around from a completely forgettable one to a "oh yea but we did ______ season?"
I mean, what would you say if we beat Tennessee this season? Even if we went 3-9 would that be a good feeling season? Maybe not. But I do not think we should give up on this team just yet. I know we play LSU who is #1 in the nation at LSU on Saturday, so go ahead, make that a 99.9% chance of a loss. That leave UK at 2-3 with USC up next. Make that a loss too, considering that we do not beat Spurrier two years in a row. Okay, so we are 2-4. That seems bad, but remember, we are Kentucky football, winning happens in spurts, whether its years or games.
Our schedule is extremely favorable after the South Carolina game. Fortunately (and I do not know why or how), but we seem to play Ole Miss and Mississippi State ever year. We play BOTH of these schools at home this season. Those are two games we can win, both teams are very average, as are we, but they could definitely be wins.
I passed Jacksonville State assuming a win, please don't let me look dumb UK, at least win that one.
Okay so we could potentially be 5-4 with Vandy, UGA, and Tennessee left.
Lets just say Joker and the team has finally gained confidence after the three game winning streak, and we go to Vandy and escape with a win, meaning UK is sitting at 6-4. All of a sudden we are bowl bound again.
Being more realistic, we go to Athens, lose to UGA, and that leaves a HUGE game at home against UT.
I know I know, you all are saying I am crazy, and that the football team is desined for a 3-9 season, but I am a believer, no matter how bad we have looked every game.
Assuming we lose to UT, because we have lost to them 4,204 years in a row, we finish at 6-6, and maybe eligible for a bowl, once again.
After all of that, we lose to Louisville, UF, and UT....but we make a bowl, would this season be a success??
I have to say yes, considering we lost over 50% of our offense, and our defense is really young. Lets hope for the best and maybe this will happen. Who knows, maybe the bowl streak could continue??
All I know is that I will not, absolutely not, predict a UK win this Saturday. But I still love UK football, and the awesome jerseys we wore against Florida.
Go Cats, hopefully.
