Poll Patrol
Kentucky once again was dominant as they exposed Florida at home and then went on the road and had to learn how to win in the face of adversity at Vandy. With a week off Kentucky must keep their focus. The last time the Cats had a week off they were stunned by Indiana at the buzzer. This week Kentucky is 1st in the AP and the Coaches Poll. Florida is 14th and 12th while Mississippi St. is 26th and 23rd, respectively. Last weeks numbers are in parentheses.
Team RPI Pomeroy Projected Record
(Total and SEC)
Kentucky 3 (5) 2 (2) 29-2 15-1
Florida 26 (17) 18 (14) 22-9 10-6
Alabama 32 (31) 28 (25) 20-10 9-7
Vanderbilt 29 (28) 30 (31) 19-12 8-8
Miss St 44 (32) 71 (69) 21-10 8-8
Mississippi 50 (52) 110 (104) 18-12 8-8
Arkansas 69 (59) 93 (75) 20-11 8-8
Tennessee 110 (142) 80 (103) 15-15 8-8
LSU 75 (74) 79 (89) 17-13 7-9
Auburn 132 (130) 171 (164) 16-14 6-10
Georgia 98 (126) 119 (151) 14-16 5-11
South Carolina 176 (159) 150 (139) 12-18 4-12
The big mover this week is Tennessee who beat Florida for the second time this season. The numbers aren't kind to them but they did jump 32 spots in the RPI in one week. If they could find a way to finish 5-1 down the stretch look for them to be squarely on the bubble. The middle of the pack is getting more crowded as teams are failing to step up and distinguish themselves from the rest.
Locks: Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, Mississippi St., Alabama
Bubble: Mississippi, Arkansas
