Kentucky advances to 2012 NCAA Final Four (UK vs Louisville 2012 part II)

After the first few minutes were back and forth, UK went into a gear that Baylor just couldn't handle. Dicky V. and many others felt Baylor could hang with UK and maybe if this game was played several times they might have a game where they did but at least today, UK was way too much for Baylor and went into the half up 20. Baylor was able to claw back some in the second half but never managed to get back the point difference back under 10 and UK won 82-70.

The biggest news of the game, besides UK winning, was Anthony Davis' knee. Early in the second half Davis sustained an injury to his knee that sent him to the bench and for a moment it looked like he was heading to the locker room for further investigation. It turned out he was just walking it off and within minutes was back in the game. TV announcers spent much of the rest of the game discussing how well Davis seemed to be and stating multiple times he should sit for the rest of the half. Davis himself though seemed to shake off the pain and eventually looked like normal later in the game. You cannot imagine that Cal would keep Davis in so long, even after the game seemed a certain win for UK if there was any risk of serious injury to Davis so I think it is safe to say he should be okay, especially with some time to rest his knee a little before the next game.

A few more notes from after the game:
-MKG was named South Region MVP
-Lamb and Davis put on all-region team list
-Miller was allowed to cut the last of the net and keep it

This win sets UK for a rematch with Louisville in the Final Four. The game will be on Saturday. We will get you the game time and station info when it is announced.
