Kentucky Loses to Vandy in 2012 SEC Championship Game

Well that was a painful loss but not a complete shock after 3 straight days of UK playing off. The big question is what this does to us going into the NCAA tournament. If the tweets coming out today are any indication, this loss might be just what UK needed to make a championship run. Notes from Twitter:

From TCPMattMay:

"That was one pissed off Kentucky locker room. MKG extremely hard on himself; Davis saying it won't happen again; A lot of anger"

"A lot of parallels to 1996 team: early loss, long winning streak, loss in SEC Finals in New Orleans...will it end same way?"

KyleTucker_CJ:
"Calipari: 'We get this off our plate. We don't have to worry about a win streak, none of that. Let's just go play this tournament.'"

"Davis: 'When you take a loss like this, it just makes you hungrier.'"

"Calipari to players: 'Maybe I'll have you attention now...(about) how we're going to have to play these next few weekend.'"

"Davis said Calipari told team 'he was glad we lost, that we needed it.' Miller said Cal 'thought we were getting full of ourselves.'"

"Kidd-Gilchrist totally dejected in the locker room, one-word answers. Teague said reminds him of IU sting. 'We don't wanna feel this again.'"

"Darius Miller: 'This brought us back to reality, that we can be beat. We're going to get refocused, get dedicated to...win a championship.'"

There was of course a Calipari comment related to his hatred of conference tournaments:

"Calipari on the loss: 'I wish this would have happened yesterday so we got home a day earlier.' Wow" (From KyleTucker_CJ)
