Just like the UK men, the UK Hoops team keeps rolling too. UK held a nice lead against Gonzaga tonight for most of the game aside from a little bump in the second half where they let Gonzaga try to creep back into the game. The lady cats shook off the momentary funk though and beat 11 seed Gonzaga 79-62.
The hoops team now moves on to face 1 seed UConn at 7 pm on ESPN. UK and UConn have met 3 times before with UConn winning 2 of those 3 games and the last one was in 99'. They have never met in the NCAA tournament before.
As a side note, all 8 of the teams in the women's elite eight are 1 and 2 seeds.
