Football recruiting update

Updating last weeks look at the football recruits still considering Kentucky,  Taylor Gadbois and
Alonzo Harris are now off the board.  Miami offered to Gadbois and he committed as expected.  Harris visited Louisiana Lafayette this weekend and committed while there.  Harris was supposed to visit Kentucky this weekend along with Alabama commit Daryl Collins. 

Jeff Drummond at Kentucky 24/7 is reporting that Demarius Rancifer, a 3 star LB, has committed to Kentucky over Mississippi and West Virginia.  Jeff is also reporting Collins Moore, a 3 star WR from Madison, AL might be swaying from his verbal to Mississippi after visiting there this past weekend and could be taking a visit to Kentucky this weekend. 

Also there is still the Jon Davis/Alvin Dupree wavering that we reported on a few days ago.  The good news is Scout did a projection of where the remaining top recruits will sign and 2 out of the 3 recruiting gurus picked Kentucky for Lamar Dawson.  The bad news...all three picked Jon Davis to go to Louisville and he will be visiting there Monday.


Lamar Dawson is a 4 star MLB at Boyle County HS.  He currently is considering Florida, Oregon, USC, Tennessee, Michigan, and Louisville.  He visited the Cats on 12/18 and has previously visited Oregon in October.  He still has visits lined up for USC, Michigan, and Tennessee.  This would be a huge get for the Cats and recruiting your own state is almost a necessity if you want to be a top tier team in the SEC.

Antonio Poole is a 4 star OLB at Winton Woods HS in Cincinnati.  He currently has offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Kansas, and Purdue.  He visited the Cats on 12/18 as well and has a visit lined up with Miami (Fl) although they have yet to offer.  Bigger names like Miami, Michigan, and Nebraska have started sniffing around where it used to look like he was a lock for either Kentucky or Purdue.

Devin Lucien is a 4 star WR at Crespi Carmelite HS in Encino, CA.  He visited Kentucky 12/10 and has also visited Arizona St.  He has visits lined up in January to Michigan and Colorado.  It is believed that the scholarship offer to Cannon was pulled in favor of Lucien who has been rumored to the Cats.  Jeff Drummond feels Lucien is a huge lean toward the Cats.

Alonzo Harris is a 3 star RB at Gadsden City HS in Gadsden, AL.  He supposedly committed to the Cats in November but has requested to speak to Joker Phillips before signing and is also still considering Cincinnati.  Scout has him eventually moving over to FB in college and ranks him the second best FB in the class.  Joker can you facebook the man or something!

Trayion Durham is a 3 star FB at Colerain HS in Cincinnati.  It seems to be down to either Harris or Durham for the FB spot as Durham is Scout's third best FB in the class.  He is also considering Cincy and has visits lined up for UK and UL in January.

Jaiari Dunaway is a 3 star OLB at Siegel HS in Murfreesboro, TN.  UK has made his top 5 along with Tennessee, Cincy, Memphis, and Middle Tenn St.

Desmond Wills is a 3 star MLB at Lincoln HS in Lincoln, AL.  He has offers from UK and Louisiana Tech, but is reportedly waiting to see if Alabama, Auburn, or Clemson will offer.  If any of those offer it is believed he will accept and Kentucky seems to be his back up plan.

Taylor Gadbois is a 3 star OT at East Paulding HS in Dallas, GA.  Gadbois is down to Kentucky, Mchigan St., and Miami(Fl).  He visited Kentucky 12/11 and has a visit scheduled in January to Miami.  Miami has yet to offer but it is believed if they do he will choose them over Kentucky.

Daryl Collins is a 3 star WR at Gadsden City HS in Gadsden, AL.  Collins has given a soft verbal to Alabama, but it is rumored they are asking him to gray shirt.  He visited Southern Miss (hopefully he didn't hang out with Darnell Dodson while there) this past weekend and will be visiting Kentucky this weekend.
