Jon Davis and Alvin Dupree are both wavering on their committment
Well how quickly things can change. Word broke yesterday that Alvin Dupree, a 3 star TE/DE out of Irwinton, GA, had committed to Operation Win (he's also the guy that dunks in the beginning of the youtube video above...it was better than any football video I could find of him). This commitment set of a chain reaction in relation to Jon Davis, a 4 star TE from Middletown, KY. Davis' father says this worried his son. “Jon was a little surprised by that,” Reggie Davis said of Dupree’s commitment. “Things are changing a little bit. He’s believing he’s the guy, and here comes another tight end. Now all of a sudden they’ve got eight tight ends. He’s not trying to play games. He just wants to make sure. He doesn’t want to get to Kentucky and all of a sudden after a practice wonder if he did the right thing." Davis' father said his son has not de-committed from Kentucky but will take visits to Louisville and Illinois the next 2 weekends leading up to national signing day Feb. 2nd.
Now couple this with breaking news that Alvin Dupree is wavering on his commitment to the Cats and is now considering Georgia Tech. "It's a soft verbal right now," he said. "That's all I'll say about that." Georgia Tech has hopped back into the picture because of Stephon Tuitt. Tuitt is a 5 star DE who had originally committed to Notre Dame but then switched to Georgia Tech this week. That prompted Dupree to commit to the Cats. Well fast forward 24 hours and Tuitt has switched back to Notre Dame and Georgia Tech is trying to get back in on Dupree. In the end we may lose both Davis and Dupree...how many days until signing day???
