Catlanta: UK Stops the Tide 72-58
Today was a beautiful day to be a Cats fan! not only was the weather outstanding UK played easily their best game of the season. UK was able to top the Alabama Tide on the 2nd day of their trip to the SEC tournament. With today's win UK will move on to tomorrow's SEC championship game against either Florida or Vandy.
Today UK played absolutely brilliant. the defense was excellent giving up only 58 points and forcing 11 turnovers. The highlight of the game however was the ability for UK to score and get things done on the offensive end. UK was 27-54 from the field and shot 50 percent as a team and only had 7 turnovers. The wealth was also spread around today with 5 UK players scoring in double digits: Lamb, Knight, Miller, Harrellson and Liggins. Harrellson continued his great play from yesterday picking up 14 points to add with 10 rebounds. Tony Mitchell led all Bama' players with 16 points.
UK couldn't have played a better game today and as a UK fan you have to be pleased. The only negative that came from today's game was at the end both Liggins and Lamb left the game with ankle injuries and they did not look good. Status is unknown as of now but these two player's contribute a ton to UK's success and without them UK would have a hard time winning any more games. I hope it was just a minor injury and they will be ready come next week. So again it's on to the next one and that so happen's to be the SEC Championship. Until next time, Go Cats!
