UK Wins Their 27th SEC Tournament
UK will go into the NCAA tournament with some a winning streak, some swagger and confidence after winning their 27th SEC tournament title today! UK picked up a 70-54 win over the Florida Gators today in what was an enduring stretch over three days for the Cats. UK looked just as good today as they did yesterday and couldn't have picked a better time to be playing their best basketball of the season.
Today was the veteran's day to shine. Miller came up huge and scored 15 points for the Cats. Harrellson had 4 points and 8 big rebounds and Liggins had 10 points with 5 rebounds. Everyone has known that the key to UK's success this season relies on the play of the 3 "old guys" and they have shined this tournament. Darius Miller was give the SEC tournament MVP and Harrellson was awarded with all-tournament team, Knight was also given the honor.
UK's defense was great again today holding Florida just to 58 points and a 38.6 field goal percentage. Only one Florida player (Kenny Boynton) was in double-digits. UK showed to have the grit that will win this tough, rough tournament games. If the Veteran's and freshmen continue this play UK could go far in the NCAA tournament. I'm really proud of how UK has developed as of late and couldn't be happier going into the Tournament. Tonight we will know who and where UK will be playing next and until next time, Go Cats!
