Big Blue Madness

Thank goodness Kentucky had a bye week in football, the fan base needed that. With all of the hype for this year's basketball team, BBM delivered. The entire presentation was something of a concert or show rather than a scrimmage, but the excitement for this season was finally upon us.

Is it just me or do Coach Calipari's speeches motivate like no one else. When he takes the podium and speaks how do recruits not want to come play at UK? Knowing that the best players in the nation for years to come will be attending this event is such a good thing for UK fans.

With all of the frustration of this year's football team (and trust me, I even wrote a post about this team still having hope) it was a sigh of relief seeing the UK basketball team get out there and scrimmage. Basketball is a mere 2 weeks away and it cannot get here soon enough. I am still a big football team but I do not know how true my earlier prediction about the football record will be (UK CAN win the next 3 games, but we will see). So having the basketball team ready to take the court is a comforting feeling.

It never gets old seeing these highly touted freshman take the court in a Kentucky uniform, and also players like Twany Beckham who went to my high school in Louisville.

Lets hope the trend continues this year, with UK making the Elite 8 in Cal's first year, and the Final Four last year. Trend says we will go to the title game this year. With this years' senior leadership of Miller, the duo of Sophomores in Jones and Lamb, and the ridiculously talented Freshman class, watch out college basketball, Kentucky is going to be good. Really good.
