Today's Football News (It's Only Getting Worse)

I know by now most of you all are just completely sick of hearing about anything related to football but we're still a few days out from Big Blue Madness and the news doesn't stop coming:

As I wrote about in an earlier post, the coaches have been looking at redshirt freshman Bookie Cobbins some and today it came out that they still have not figured out how or if to use him but Cobbins is badly wanting to play. There has been some hype surrounding Cobbins and hopefully, seeing as we have absolutely nothing to use, they will give the guy a shot and now.

From Kyle Tucker at the CJ: "Telling quote. Randy Sanders hopes open week will help staff fix the offense. "There’s no guarantees. We’ve still got the same players."" Sounds to me like he's basically saying he knows our offense is horrible and he doesn't have the players to fix it.

Also from Kyle Tucker: "Randy Sanders said he gave QB Morgan Newton a hug yesterday. Said he's made it clear UK is sticking with him from here on." I think it's safe to say that we are done giving Max Smith a shot at QB after he threw those two interceptions in his first two tries against South Carolina. Can't call this good news since Newton isn't having much luck himself.

And the worst news for the day: the guy who seems to be our biggest star on offense, at least from my perspective, Josh Clemons is out for the rest of the season. This is a HUGE blow to an already bad offense. Clemons was making a lot out of nothing this freshman season and gaining some of the best yardage overall for the offense and to lose him puts a new final nail into UK's offense for this season.
